DESCRIPTION: The thickened shoots that become stunted, thickened and of a slightly pinkish hue are caused by a brown jumping plant louse. The galls are usually referred to as 'tassel galls'.  DISTRIBUTION: Locally common across the UK. HABITAT: Found on various species of Juncus in marshes and wet meadows.
